XCOM: Enemy Unknown-- Months later, still fun

It is the age old story, humans make contact with aliens from another planet, aliens land on Earth and people die, but we fight back as one world to defeat the aliens. It is the classic game story with a gameplay twist, a turn based alien invasion game. You are put in charge of XCOM, a fighting force comprised of soldiers from all parts of the world put in place to fight off the invading aliens. This is a turn based strategy game in which the player controls a squad of XCOM soldiers, on the field, during missions to fight back against the alien invaders. When your not out doing missions you can also expand the XCOM base, research weapons and armor, hire soldiers, and even launch satellites to be notified of more alien activity around the world. With so much to do XCOM offers hours and hours of gameplay which won't disappoint as well as a strong storyline with many twists and turns that progress the gameplay and entertain the player.

Squad selection before mission.

This game got me hooked right from the beginning I loved the turn-based style of gameplay and how it worked in well with the story and game. But what really got me excited was the amount of customization that they had, for example every soldier in your barracks can be customized from top to bottom. What I liked doing the most was customize my soldiers armor based on their country to allow for home pride with my squad. I also liked the idea of having my soldiers level up and me being able to choose what skills they learn after their upgrade. XCOM really allows you to make this alien fighting agency your own and the gameplay will really make you think about how you want to move your troops in the field in order to get all squad members out alive(or at least your favorite one). After much success with XCOM: Enemy Unknown, XCOM is coming out with a sequel entitled The Bureau  XCOM Declassified and from what I am seeing so far, the bureau looks to be another fun filled game. But in the meantime you can get XCOM Enemy Unknown on PC, Xbox, PS3, OS X, and IOS.

Turn based gameplay.
